History
Drum World started in 1979 in San Francisco CA. Ever since then we have been fortunate to serve the Bay Area's percussion needs. We moved to our present location in San Mateo in the late 90's and have continued the tradition of top notch service, sales, repairs, clinics and lessons. We take pride in the fact that we feature not only the newest kits from prominent drum manufacturers, but a large selection of vintage and custom drums as well. We also have a great selection of Latin and World Percussion.
We strive to make drum world a store where the customer feels comfortable and not pressured in any way. The staff of drum world are professional drummers who welcome any and all questions regarding our chosen instrument. Drum World is in many ways is a throwback to the old music store vibe, where you could find out invaluable things just by talking to the staff and fellow drum shoppers.
Clinics are a specialty of drum world and are a great way to see a professional touring drummer in an intimate environment. At drum world we are proud to host some of the worlds greatest drumming talent at our store on a regular basis.
Products
The store carries a wide variety of new, custom, used and vintage drumkits, snare drums, hardware, cymbals, heads, sticks, congas, djembes, bongos, hand percussion, dvds, books and anything else you can think of having to do with drums. We are also proud to be a dealer for a variety of custom drum makers as well including, San Francisco Drum Co., John Cross custom snare drums and Thumper custom drums. We feel that carrying these hard to get specialty brands helps set us apart from the average chain music store. We also offer a variety of services including: repairs, drumkit rental and drum tuning.
